The first weekend in July 2017, Daryl and his friend David took on the Cotsworld Way 100k Challenge to raise funds for PID UK. The trek took place over two days from Bath to Cheltenham.
Daryl’s daughter was diagnosed with Hyper IgE syndrome in 2015 and it is because of this diagnosis that Daryl and David took on this mammoth trek.
Daryl managed to trek 68km before he has to retire due to shin splints and blisters whilst David managed to get to 80km before he had to stop due to a torn calf.
Daryl has also included the PID UK logo on the local ‘Under 12’ rugby team shirts to help increase awareness of primary immunodeficiency and the work PID UK does. Thank you Daryl.
